The EMR3 Electronic Register System

The New Electronic Meter Register System from Veeder-Root is an alterative to the Mechanical Register that has set the worldwide standard for quality, performance and value over the past four decades. As the leader in Meter Registers, Veeder-Root has incorporated in the design of the EMR 3 , the most important features to meet the new demands of the market. The Register Head (display) and the Interconnect Box (I.B.) are the building blocks of the system. These along with a series of accessories allow the owner to configure a system that meets their needs on the vehicle or in the terminal. Two Registers may be connected to a single I.B. and up to 16 Interconnect Boxes can be networked together with I.B. NET.

The EMR 3 Register and Display

The Anti-fog, Backlit display incorporates four individual fields for totalizer, preset/price, register and descriptions, which allow the user easy day or night viewing of important values during a delivery. Additional Icons annunciate specific conditions and modes. Tactile feel Buttons provide positive feedback to data entry and operation.

The display inputs are designed to accept Multiple types of intrinsically safe signals in the form of Quadrature, Pulse, Switch, and RS-485. This allows the user to interface to most traditional PD, Turbine and Mass Flow Meters right at the meter. An additional connection provides for the Emergency Stop feature. The EMR 3 Register stores 50 transaction records in non-volatile memory. It is capable of retrieving the records from the I.B. box in case that a new register is installed. An optional Keypad is available for easy alphanumeric entry. It mounts directly to the register housing.

The EMR 3 Interconnect Box

The I.B. component mounts in the cab or building and provides the EMR 3 Register intrinsically safe power to the Register at the meter. Safety first is the standard used in the design of the box.The I.B. is the networking and communication hub for the system. It also accommodates the control features of the system and provides the non-intrinsic safe interfacing capability. The I.B. provides the customer with a selection of models to meet individual application requirements. One or Two head configurations can be selected to provide control for single meter or dual meter with simultaneous operation. Options include 0,2 and 4 relay configurations as well as Time and Date stamping. Models are available in 12vdc or 24vdc or may be powered with an external power supply. All models include three communication ports designed for connection to On-Board Computers, Printers, I.B. NET and auxiliary devices such as RF ID readers. The I.B. has individual remote start and stop inputs for each register head. Up to 250 transactions are recorded in non-volatile memory using the FIFO method. Records are retrieved from the register in the case of a new register is installed. Electronic meter register from Veeder-Root
