Use your existing mechanical preset valve with the EMR3

Veeder-Root Petroleum Products announces a system for using an existing mechanical preset 2-stage valve with the EMR3 Electronic Meter Register System.

When retrofitting a mechanical register-preset vehicle with an EMR3, you can now use your existing Mechanical 2-stage Valve saving the higher cost of buying and re-piping a solenoid-operated 2-stage valve.

The new V-R system for the EMR3 uses the V-R Mechanical Preset for mechanical valve control. Air actuators controlled by solenoid-operated air switches operate the preset knockoff mechanisms in the V-R preset. The solenoid air switches are controlled by the EMR3 relays. You set the Slow Flow and Stop relay timing to your specific needs in the EMR3 set-up. The mechanical valve will still need to be opened/cocked by hand as in a normal mechanical valve system. An EMR3 Interconnect Box (IB) with relays is required.

The V-R system can be purchased as a kit for using part of an existing V-R Mechanical Preset, or as a complete replacement for an existing V-R or other brand preset, or for a new installation. The kit requires some removal of internal parts of an existing preset and a minor modification of the preset housing.

The system comes complete with all fittings plus tubing for a typical truck installation. All that is needed is an air supply from the vehicle at a minimum of 20 psi. (1.5bar). Both 12 and 24 Volt systems are available.
